Happy New 2012 Year!

Happy New 2012 Year!

Tomorrow is the Beginning of the Western New Year and this year the Chinese New Year commences January 23rd 2012 so that makes this a special month to begin things that are very important.

In 2012 it will be the year of the Water Dragon and this means a lot of changes ahead.  The winning qualities for anyone to have in the Year of the Water Dragon will be Compassion, Peacefulness and a Determination within yourself to make things happen.  In 2012 the mantra is: “Do it now (as soon as you can) and do it the best you can!” Don’t wait for anything to happen.  Take the power yourself and commence!

Here are some tips that can prepare you from now until the start of the Chinese New Year.

1.    Every New Year is a chance to have a new start and the experts say it takes 21 days to create a new habit (of success or failure).  So whatever you are truly wishing for – examine exactly what it is, how you need to get it and what’s stopping you (either internally inside you or externally – to do with the world).  Write down your wish on a single piece of paper (with nothing else on it) and wrap it in red paper.  In the first week of January you need to bury it in the ground somewhere (preferably under a jade tree and in an areas that has nice energy in the ground).  Then pay special attention to what you need to do on your side and pin point one small effort you need to make even if its just getting up ½ hour earlier each day to make this happen.  Review your wish each week and say to yourself “I am so happy I am attaining this…”  By speaking to yourself this way, you will find out if YOU are on track to receive your wish.

2.    Over the next month leading up to January 23 – do go through your house, your wardrobe, your home office, etc and clear out your clutter.  This will really help you a lot – so don’t miss it.  Make sure you do a spring clean of your home as well – even if you need to hire cleaners to come and help you.

3.    On New Year’s Day it is particularly important to share this with close friends or people you love.  If, for some reason you cannot be around the ones you love, spread a blessing of love and peace into the gathering you are in.  To do this at the beginning of the New Year means you will inject special energy into your projects right throughout the year and this will ignite YOU with the power to manifest special things.

4.    Finally, settle any dispute you have with anyone else, a situation or a circumstance – even if you cannot settle it with them/the thing or the situation personally.  If you bring good energy into even a bad situation – you are the one who will have true strength.

To do this at the Commencement of the New Year is an Omen of Fortune – go for it – the Dragon is with You!

Happy 2012

8 Tips for the Home Office

8 Tips for the Home Office

8 Tips For Setting Up A Home Office :

1. Never sit at your desk with your back to:
- A door,
- A window,
- A large open space in the room.
Your best position is to sit with your back against a solid wall where you can have a view of the whole room in front of you. This particular configuration allows you to be secure in the room and more productive.

2. You need to have good lighting in the room, at your work spaces and additional lighting at your desk if required. If there’s too much light you won’t be able to concentrate and the excess light will make you nervous and stressed out. If you have too little light it will make you lethargic, lazy and reduce your ability to take up opportunities properly. Getting the right balance in your lighting right will help you work cohesively.

3. The colors we surround ourselves with play an important role in home office Feng Shui. Unless you’re working in video or the movie industry editing, dark wall colors are repressive and unproductive as they make the good life force energy in the room change to become very ‘yin’ – especially if there is not enough natural light.

Essentially, this creates a “night room” instead of a day room….

Even if you do work at night… ensure you use more yang colors such as pale yellows, pale orange tones or the white family of color. If you work in an industry where you need to be very responsive emotionally avoid surrounding yourself in too much blue or purple because these colors tend to make us too detached and this can prevent us from feeling the pulse of what’s going on – properly.

4. Arranging and organizing your work space and storage properly will really let you go ahead in terms of being productive. Sometimes this means spending an extra dollar here and there to get “effective storage” worked out making the right purchases definitely pays. Avoid letting your desk mount up with unfinished business. Keeping your desk free of clutter will allow you to work freely without delay or confusion.

5. Be strict about keeping your business life and your personal life separate. Let yourself get distracted with household activities frequently, you’ll step out of your role and back into being a Mom or a Dad and this will have an impact. Working in spurts is a very effective way to work from home offices. So one uninterrupted hour here and two uninterrupted hours there will produce great results.

6. Try to face one of your good Feng Shui directions when sitting at your desk or working on your computer. If you’re not sure how to do this properly consider getting our Feng Shui Astrology eBook. This will help you figure it out in less than three minutes and it will also help you to avoid facing directions that could potentially bring you obstacles and hardships!

7. Build a “Goals” or “Vision” Board and keep it somewhere in the office where you can clearly see it every day and reflect on it. Display any pictures, any words of wisdom, any great thoughts or realizations openly so that you stay inspired. Be attentive not to mix your “TO DO” list with your ‘Goals Board.’ Review all Goals regularly – at least once a month and create plans to support fulfilling them. Be watchful of any problems you encounter as these may need review to turn the situation around. Always have a way of openly acknowledging (in the office) each time you succeed in attaining any goal.

8. Finally, do not place tall heavy furniture items in front of where you sit or operate. Having tall, heavy furniture hanging over us does have an impact and it can make you feel unmotivated, burdened and unable to function properly. Ensure these tall items of furniture are positioned to either side of you, or on the wall behind you. This way you will always feel free to move forward.

Bad Work Places

Bad Work Places

Paula’s Question:
I sit with my back to an open corridor where people walk past a lot and I am having major back stabbing issues at work and lots of terrible trouble, I cannot move the seating so what is a good remedy to stop the awfulness that is going on. Thank you

Paula

Gayle’s Answer:
Hi Paula, thanks for your question. This is such an unnerving way to work – I can completely appreciate your situation. Additionally when corporate leaders do not encourage friendly environments – this is even worse! OK, a very easy fix for this is to add a normal small round mirror just off to your left or right – (in front of you) where you are sitting at your desk.

This will allow you to look in the mirror and see/know what’s happening behind you at all times and it does just a small mirror to others (believe it or not).

I also recommend you surround yourself with nicer objects at work. For instance a very small vase of flowers or a few objects that can represent your personal goals is very good because it allows you to stay focused on the reason why your there. You can have a look at our workplace remedy section as well if you like (http://fengshui.com.au/online-store).

You don’t have to buy anything but you can get an idea of some Feng Shui things you can get and how/why people position these things at their desk. You may prefer to have something entirely different – which is fine because the items should reflect what you can relate to and you goals.

Having said that, things like Kirins are very protective and they do help us to maintain ourselves when working in a negative atmosphere, Kwan Kung is a protector, Kwan Yin fulfils the Heart…  it’s up to you. We’ve got very easy things you can put at your workstation.

Finally, at an Inner Feng Shui level you will need to make the effort not to buy into the situation at work. Don’t even contemplate getting involved in “the he said/she said thing” – it’s very debilitating and if the worst that can happen is you lose your job – that might not be so bad…

What goes around comes around so leave negative people to their own devices and stay out of the way. If someone is on a negative spiral – you need to make sure you are out of their way!

Good Luck
Gayle

Will My Prosperity Run out?

Will My Prosperity Run out?

Someone asked the question:
My office is at the front of my house, to the right as you enter the entrance. We have removed a cupboard which is directly facing the entrance door. We thought a nice water feature would be lovely here. My friend said no, means prosperity runs out of the house. What would you suggest?
